Richard B. Lechner was raised in Medford and is a graduate of Shawnee High School, Class of 1977. He currently resides in Medford with his wife, Donna, and their four sons, Richard, Jr., Shawn, Ethan, and Jacob.
Richard and Donna purchased Lechner Funeral Home in December 1993 from Doug Lewis. Prior to purchasing the funeral home, Richard was employed by Doug Lewis as manager of The Lewis Funeral Homes of Moorestown and Medford.

Richard is a member of the Burlington County Funeral Directors Association, the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, and the Medford Lakes Lions Club.

Donna works at Taunton Forge Elementary School in Medford as a Classroom Assistant. She is a member of the Pinelands Garden Club. Donna is not a licensed funeral director.

Richard and Donna are also members of the Historic Medford Village Association, the Medford Historical Society and the Medford Lakes Country Club.
